Ginger And Tumeric

Ginger and turmeric are some of the best things you can put into your body, especially during winter, when everyone and their mother-in-law seem to be coming down with some nasty virus or bacteria. For bacteria, antibiotics will probably do a lot to knock them out. Incidentally, scientists are not too sure of how long it will take bacteria to evolve past antibiotics, but it is a fair assumption that at some point – sooner than later – the antibiotics we now use will be obsolete, and new methods of treatment will have to be devised. As for viruses, there is nothing you can do but wait it out, and give your body the space and time to do its thing and fight. Ginger and turmeric are good defenses, whether as a preventive measure or a reactive one. If you want to give your body the best chance of getting over illness quicker, or in some cases avoiding getting sick altogether, they are a good way to go. They build up the immune system, and give the body a boost of vitality. The flu virus mutates each year, and there are some years where everyone – everyone – gets sick, no matter how healthy they are. That being said, items like ginger and turmeric will give you a fighting chance. These are some of the most potent and magical substances in nature, and they can help the body out in a lot of ways. I feel that for me, personally, consistency is key. It is not enough just to have some when you feel you are starting to come down with something. That wouldn’t be enough. Ideally, it should be something you are putting into your body on a fairly regular basis once the winter kicks in. It can be in a dish, in a tea, or in any other form or method. Curcumin, which is the active ingredient in turmeric, has been known for its many positive attributes for thousands of years. Different medical traditions have singled out turmeric over the many years, and for good reason. It is a versatile substance, and it can do a lot for your body. Some people even take curcumin capsules on a daily basis, and it is said to help out a lot with the body ongoing maintenance and defense system upkeep. If you want to stand a chance against the wintertime maladies, try giving those two a shot.
